Grades, Sizes and Polishes
At NAM, we produce stainless steel round rods using 303, 304 and 316 grade stainless steel. The grade you need depends heavily on the specific project you’re doing. Our stainless steel round rods for commercial applications come with a variety of options:
Stainless Steel Grades
Out of all the stainless steel grades, 304 is among the most popular for its cost-effectiveness and usefulness in a broad array of applications. Containing about 18% chromium and 8% nickel, it offers excellent weldability and strength. While 303 grade stainless steel’s addition of sulfur grants it less corrosion resistance, many choose to use it because it is easy to cut and form.
Meanwhile, 316 grade stainless steel is similar to 304 but has a slightly lower chromium content and the added benefit of molybdenum. This increases the material’s corrosion resistance and makes it useful for tougher environments dealing with chemicals and seawater.
Sizes
Once you know what grade you need, it’s time to choose a size. We offer multiple standard sizes, including:
- 3/16″
- 1/4″
- 3/8″
- 1/2″
- 3/4″
- 1″
- 1 ½″
- 2″
- 3″

- 4″
We also offer sizes intended for larger projects. Regardless of your needs, we can provide round rods that align with your goals.
Polishes
If you’re looking to apply a specific finish to a round rod, we have a variety of options. The right polish can add durability to your stainless steel product while also delivering long-lasting aesthetic appeal.
Whether you need a highly reflective polish or something with a little more grain and texture, we will deliver the solution you need. Our offerings range from mirror polishes and satin finishes to long-grain and mill finishes, and we have a variety of options available.
