Tube/Pipe

Polished Stainless Steel Tubing

At Nationwide Architectural Metals, we manufacture and distribute a wide variety of rectangular and square tubing as well as circular pipes. Our extensive lineup of quality metal tubes and pipes in sizes ranging from ½-inch to 12-inch diameter are available in custom, satin and mirror finishes. We work with contractors, architectural specialists and fabricators to ensure we deliver exactly what is needed for each unique project.

Architectural tubes and pipes are rigid, hollow lengths of tubing with rectangular, square or circular cross-sections. Our tubes and pipes are ideal for architectural and aesthetic applications such as handrails, footrails or architectural trim. They are available in stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, and aluminum. Contact us today to discuss your project!

Stainless Steel Tube & Pipe

Polished stainless steel tubes and pipes offer excellent weldability as well as wear and corrosion resistance. This metal is known for its durability while also providing an attractive and easy-to-maintain surface.

Stainless steel is an iron-based alloy with a chromium content of at least 10.5%. It’s this addition of chromium that forms a self-renewing layer of chromium oxide on the surface when exposed to oxygen. This layer acts as a barrier protecting the underlying material from corrosive elements. Additional alloying elements are added depending on the grade. Polished stainless steel tubing is suitable for high-load structural applications in addition to decorative or architectural applications. It is frequently used in rails and ladders.

Benefits of Stainless Steel Tube & Pipe

  • High strength-to-weight ratio
  • Hygienic, easy-to-clean surface
  • Aesthetically appealing appearance
  • Resistant to high temperatures
  • Easily cut, formed, machined and welded

Common Stainless Steel Tube & Pipe Grades

  • 303 Stainless Steel
  • 304/304L Stainless Steel
  • 316/316L Stainless Steel

Brass Tube & Pipe

Polished brass tubing and pipe offer good corrosion resistance and high strength. It is also useful for its antimicrobial properties. Brass is an alloy metal made of copper and zinc. Polished brass tubing is popular in kitchens and bathrooms as they are poor breeding grounds for bacteria. This tubing is also used in architecture and design because of its beautiful color creating a unique accent for elevators, doors, entrances, railings, trim and other features.

Benefits of Brass Tube & Pipe

  • Beautiful bright gold, reddish-gold, or silver-white appearance
  • High malleability
  • Low friction
  • Corrosion resistance

Common Brass Tube & Pipe Grades

  • 230 Red Brass
  • 260 Yellow Brass
  • 360 Yellow Brass
  • 464 Naval

Bronze Tube & Pipe

Bronze pipes and tubes offer high strength and high wear resistance. Bronze is a metal alloy made of primarily copper. It creates an oxide layer protecting it from corrosion. But while other metals may patina over time, with frequent oiling and polishing, bronze can maintain its raw, pinkish finish. Bronze tube and piping is commonly used as window frames, trim, and rails.

Benefits of Bronze Tube & Pipe

  • Low friction
  • Oxidizing outer layer protects interior from corrosion
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Resistance to corrosion and metal fatigue

Common Bronze Tube & Pipe Grades

  • 220 Commercial Bronze
  • 280 Muntz
  • 385 Architectural Bronze

Copper Tube & Pipe

Copper pipe and tubing are a reddish-gold color that can be polished to a bright finish. Over time they will form a greenish patina that protects the metal from corrosion. Copper is known for its low maintenance and durability. Copper pipe and tubing are used in architectural accents around the world. Prized for its green patina, it is frequently used in architectural exteriors. However, its antimicrobial properties also make it a great option for bathrooms and kitchens.

Benefits of Copper Pipe & Tubing

  • Antimicrobial
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Durability
  • Low thermal movement
  • Low maintenance
  • Lightweight

Aluminum Tube & Pipe

As an aluminum tubing supplier, Nationwide Architectural Metals prizes aluminum tube and pipe for its lightweight and excellent resistance to corrosion. Aluminum tube and pipe can be easily formed and bent and can be polished to a highly reflective state. Aluminum tubes and pipes are useful in building exteriors and interior decorative features.

Benefits of Aluminum Tube & Pipe

  • Lightweight
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Strength
  • Durability

Common Aluminum Tube & Pipe Grades

  • 3003 Aluminum
  • 5051 Aluminum
  • 5052 Aluminum
  • 6061 Aluminum
  • 6063 Aluminum
